Sweet Potato Pie

3 good size sweet potatoes

¾ to 1 c. (1½-2 sticks) butter
4 eggs
1 can evaporated milk[1]

1 c. sugar

1 c. brown sugar

½ t. cinnamon and nutmeg

Boil potatoes, peel, and cool. Mix three or four times, cleaning beaters each time, until strings appear to be gone. Mix in one ingredient at a time in the order listed. Add spices, mix, and bake in bottom pie crust at 375° for about 1 hr, then add a sugar/cinnamon mixture to the top and return to the oven for approximately 15 mins.
